The Ostler, from 7.30pm
What breaks your heart?
We see challenging images and heart breaking stories in the media every day, but what in particular breaks your heart and offends your sense of justice?
As Christians how should we respond?
Some of us went to Lee Abbey last weekend. David Rowe spoke about us being 'a fragrance' ... leaving a 'distinctive mark' on those around us by our actions and attitudes. He also challenged us to be attentive and intentional. The 'Way of Life' being explored at St Mary's Uffculme also calls us 'to work to alleviate poverty and injustice'.
So if your 'heart has been broken' by something you have seen or experienced recently what do you think you might be called to do about it?
We'll spend some time sharing the issues on our hearts - at a local, national or international level - and consider what practical action we might be take - perhaps before the next curry night - to at least make a small difference on the world around us.
If you want to email issues (or web links) to me in advance I'll try to pull together some images or video to help us reflect on issues.
If you could let me know if you are attending that would be great.
If you prefer to eat before you come - and just join us for the discussion - that's fine.
