An insight into Clinical Theology
Some of you met Mike Butler at the last Men's Group - he has recently moved to Uffculme from North Devon and is a member of the congregation at St Mary's Uffculme.

Mike is going to tell us about his own faith journey and also talk about his involvement with Clinical Theology.

The term "The Cure of Souls" dates back to at least Gregory the Great, and has been a living practise in ministry for both ordained and lay persons ever since. In essence it is about being alongside people in distress staying with them at depth, being the hands, feet, ears, being Gods representative fully present with that person for however long it takes.

Mike is a tutor and trustee of what was originally known as The Clinical Theology Association, now known as The Bridge Pastoral Foundation (
www.bridgepastoral.org.uk). It was originally set up to train priests in pastoral care and counselling , some 50 years ago . The training moved on to doctors and people in the caring professions.

As usual, please indicate if you are coming by the end of Tuesday 9 Oct.

It should be a really good evening and I look forward to seeing you there.
