30 people met for the Men's Group Curry Night and discussed the topic of whether Jesus would vote for Labour or Conservative. The essence of the discussion was to consider how Christian values were reflected in the policies of the two parties, and what impact could we as Christians have on politics at a local and national level.
There was a lively debate which included themes of centralised vs localised policy making, ideology, the impact of the credit crunch on policy, the impact of the press on policy making and changes in the political landscape over the life recent governments.
The debate was followed by fellowship over beer and curry, and it was great that there were so many people there from across the Mission Community.
